Great Lakes Alliance (GLA) is a group of American Real Life Superheroes based in Minnesota. They were formerly known as the "Great Lakes Heroes Guild" but changed their name, as they wished to downplay the term "hero."

    History

The Great Lakes Alliance was founded by Geist, RazorHawk and The Watchman, meeting in Rochester on April 4, 2011 for the first time.

    From their website:

"THE GLA'S PRIMARY FOCUS IS CHARITY, MAINLY DEALING WITH CHILDREN OR THE HOMELESS. ESPECIALLY PEOPLE SERVING PEOPLE, WHICH IS A LOCAL SHELTER FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES.

WE ALSO CONDUCT SAFETY PATROLS IN OUR OWN COMMUNITIES. SAFETY PATROLS ARE AS THEY SOUND LIKE, PATROLS TO MAKE SURE THAT PEOPLE ARE SAFE AND ARE AWARE OF THEIR ENVIRONMENT, AND ANY HAZARDS THAT MAY BE FOUND IN THAT ENVIRONMENT.

OUR FINAL FOCUS IS ON EMERGENCY SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATIONS. THIS IS SOMETHING WE WILL BE DOING DURING ANY DISASTER, NATURAL OR MANMADE. OUR TEAM MEMBERS HAVE TAKEN THE ONLINE CERT TRAINING, WHICH IS CITIZENS EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAMS. THIS IS A PROGRAM THAT IS PUT ON BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND ALLOWS US TO LEARN WHAT TO DO IN ANY EMERGENCY SITUATION."
