From Instagram: Hands-free is the way to be! With this new pack, too, I can carry much more food, clothing, and supplies at any given time and not have to re-stock nearly as much as I did before. Nothing like a good old suit upgrade! Tonight was a good night of homeless outreach. I handed out around 30 lbs. of supplies and saw a bunch of familiar faces, had some really good, really meaningful conversations. I truly believe that some of the most generous people I've ever met have been homeless neighbors. Sometimes I'll give someone clothing or supplies, and later on they'll see that someone else could use it more than them, so they pass it along. Going through hardship makes you more attuned to the hardships that others are facing. It was a bit of a mixed bag later in the night, though, and I had to step in and be present for two separate confrontations. Between homeless neighbors I know, too. It's hard to see that, but all I can do is stay present, do positive redirection, and de-escalate. And at the end of the night, a lot of people were clothed and fed, and no one was hurt, so that's all that matters. As always, please take care of each other, and stay safe out there! Feb 1 2020
