Summary
From Instagram: I always told myself that while the costume was meant to bring visibility and awareness to the issue of homelessness in this city, if the mask ever got in the way or became a problem, I'd get rid of it and keep doing good anyway. Tonight, after I did an interview with the very kind and professional @brandonbates_tv from WXII 12 News and did some homeless outreach, Officer Henry asked to talk with me for a moment. He was very kind and respectful as he talked to me about my outreach, his concerns for my safety going out the way that I do, and the possible legal issues with wearing a mask in public in NC. He saw it as a legal gray area and basically left it up to me to keep the mask on or take it off, but I decided that I didn't want the mask to become a sticking point. I'm still going to be doing what I'm already doing, just without a mask. I'm still Night Watch, but you can also call me Nick. Please continue to take care of each other, and as always, stay safe out there! January 23 2020
