Mangetsu-Man, which translates as "Mr. Full Moon", is a Real Life Superhero who is on a crusade to clean up the streets of Tokyo, Japan.
History
Armed with a broom, Mangetsu-Man has been patrolling the streets of Tokyo since 2014 in a tireless search for rubbish. But his mission is much larger than just to keep an eye off for crime. Mangetsu-Man hopes that by cleaning the streets, he can also "fight garbage all the negativity in the world."
Like any self-respecting superhero, Mangetsu-Man goes to great lengths to keep his true identity secret. He even uses a voice dictation app to conceal his voice.
Dressed in black, yellow, and black and what appear to be oversized gloves with matching colors, Mangetsu-Man has attracted lots of attention, which is saying something in a city like Tokyo where dressing up in outlandish outfits are common.
His good deeds have inspired a small army of volunteers.
