Purple Reign is a Real Life Superheroine in Seattle, Washington. She is known for her efforts fighting against domestic violence through her non-profit organization, the Purple Reign Campaign. The Purple Reign Campaign website is an avenue of donation through charity drives and merchandise sales as well as providing resources and tools for victims of domestic violence. Purple Reign works directly with another non-profit 501(c) 3 organization, Northwest Family Life, which is a counseling center for domestic violence victims.
Purple Reign was also known for her membership in the Rain City Superhero Movement. She served as the Oracle for the team. She now works independently raising awareness and giving presentations. She has been interviewed by CNN, The Times of London and several other media outlets around the world about her work.
History
At one point in her life, Purple Reign was the victim of domestic violence. After overcoming the experience, Purple Reign decided to start her campaign against domestic violence by suiting up to bring visibility to the cause.
Purple Reign was formerly married to another figure in the Seattle superhero movement, Phoenix Jones. They seperated in mid-November 2013. A statement on her Facebook page from November 13, 2013 addresses the separation:
- "I feel it is time to make a public statement announcing that Phoenix Jones and I are no longer together and and will not be working together on any future projects. I have always conducted myself in a professional and respectable manner and do not wish to share the details of our separation. I also do not have any information about any of the allegations made against him so please do not inquire. I do need to make it clear that I am not affiliated with him or the Rain City Superhero Movement, however, I will continue to help those in need as Purple Reign. I wish Phoenix and the RCSM the best of luck in their future endeavors."
