The Xtreme Justice League (XJL) is an American group of Real Life Superheroes based in San Diego, California. The XJL currently has a small chapters in various cities in addition to its original branch located in San Diego. They currently cooperate with fellow RLSH groups, the California Initiative and Rose City Rebellion, as they are within the same area.

    History

The Xtreme Justice League was first founded in 2006 by Mr. Xtreme to try to prevent crime in San Diego, California. Their mission statement is below, as provided in their own words:

We currently patrol around San Diego County, doing patrols anywhere from just north of the border to as far north as L.A. on occasion. We do everything from standard crime patrols, large campaigns, public service announcements, community outreach, and homeless outreach.
We try to be an integral part of our community and more than anything we want to see our community a safe place. We have a very diverse group ranging from people with security backgrounds to full time students. We all have our reasons for doing this, from past traumas, to being inspired by superhero movies, to just wanting to do something worth being proud of. At the end of the day we want to make a difference.[1]

In addition to media attention of the group and its members, the XJL has also been highlighted by Tom Cruise via Facebook in which the post designed to reference Jack Reacher, a Tom Cruise movie role, as similar to vigilantes or real life superheroes.[2]

They sometimes meet up with other superheroes to help the homeless and fight bigger crimes.

The XJL has spawned offshoot teams in Colorado, New York, North Carolina, and Oklahoma.

    Death of Rouroni

Rouroni, a member of the group, passed away in a fatal car accident on May 25, 2012, killing four people (Including Rouroni) and injuring three. His death prompted an outpouring of grief from the RLSH community for his passing. His fellow XJL members in life served as his pallbearers at his funeral.
